Dr Margaret Pride, Choral Director

Collegium Symphonic Chorus Director, Dr Margaret Pride, studied choral music and conducting for five years in the United States, gaining her performance doctorate under Rodney Eichenberger at the prestigious University of Southern California.

She is past national and state president of the Australian National Choral Association and was chief inaugurator of the National Youth Choir of Australia.

Margaret also established Australia's first performing Master's Degree in choral music at the University of Western Australia, where she currently lectures.

In 2000, she was awarded a Centenary Medal in recognition of her services to choral music in Western Australia.

Each year, Margaret conducts over a dozen full choral concerts including several oratorios and cantatas, traditional unaccompanied sacred music and more specialised vocal chamber music.

With the Collegium Symphonic Chorus, she has performed in a number of overseas cities, with plans for a tour in Canada in 2012.
